´WorldMatch has focused on improving its competitive advantages´

(Cartagena, SoloAzar Exclusive).- During the last edition of GAT, which marked the return of face-to-face events for many companies in Latin America, SoloAzar exclusively interviewed Estefanía Venegas Mejia, WorldMatch Latin America Regional Manager.

´WorldMatch has focused on improving its competitive advantages´

What are the novelties that you have presented this year at GAT 2021?

During GAT we presented our Candy Bar game, a square wheel divided into different sectors that can multiply by two (X2) and by three (X3) the winnings of the players.

In addition to announcing the new table games for Colombia: HI-LO, Punto Banco and Baccarat, and many more games, since WorldMatch has concentrated on improving its competitive advantages and one of them is being the producer of premium games present in each regulated market.

We are certifying new and key games for Colombia constantly and more frequently, for what goes from January to August, WorldMatch certified 40 games, thus affirming that we have more than 150 games available for the country.

Players in Colombia will be able to live the experience of playing slots that are entertaining and also designed for the Latin American market.

This is one of the first face-to-face events in a long time. How was the reunion with the people of the sector and what stands out the most from the fair?

It was very beautiful to see many people in the sector so happy and intrepid after a very long time without traveling and / or with an electronic device involved. Although we have participated in events in Europe and the Middle East (AGS Summit), this is our first event in Latin America.

We hope to continue participating in others as long as government and mobility limitations are attenuated until they dissipate since there is not much coherence in the times and the degree of adaptation and the speed of management that is required to make tourism and roaming viable that this sector lives.

States must be able to manage and determine options less limited to internationalization and more focused on prevention and the freedom that is talked about in these times of unlimited interconnection. Anticipating valid measures to mitigate contagions and the "health emergency" in a manner consistent with the times, needs and speed at which we move, giving priority to sustainable actions.

How have you adapted to the last year with the online modality?

For us, it has actually been an opportunity to consolidate and begin to reap the overwhelming fruits of the work that we have been developing for a long time with the production of games for the land market. We are one of the most important producers of classic slots and this has allowed us to be surer of the steps to follow during this period that has accelerated and increased the demand for online slot games entertainment, especially in Italy.

It has also allowed us to concentrate and optimize the work of our entire international team, paying close attention to details, recommendations and the needs of the markets where we are located and / or we plan to start operations. Undoubtedly the priority are those countries with a regulation that validates our activity and commercial interests and where there is prospect.

As a company, what are your goals for the rest of the year?

Activate our product with three prestigious Online Gaming operators in Colombia, resume business relationships based on prospects and projections in the Latin American market and take advantage of advances in certification and the availability of our content for all casino targets, lovers of classic and innovative slots.

Do you see a recovery in the sector in the short or medium term?

Yes, for all those who are willing to take a realistic and visionary stance with their commercial activity. I believe that all of us who have embraced information technologies, the Internet and computing in general, have been prepared (at least in understanding) for the rapid changes that interconnectivity, virtuality and new ways of working offer us.

It is necessary to start projecting and having a short, medium and long term purpose according to the environment and the needs of increasingly demanding and conscious, participatory and responsible users.

Like any other activity, it is necessary not to pretend and misinterpret conservation of values or objectives with loss of identity, since these can be rethought and renewed considering only current and future scenarios that are foreseeable. This does not necessarily generate controversy or disagreement with the basic fundamentals of the activity, but rather it enriches them.

Without a doubt, I hope together with the experience that we have collected in the last year and a half, we will be able to propose and allow the complete transformation that the activity of games of entertainment, luck and chance requires. A less connected or less awake world will not be the target of today or tomorrow.

I believe that this could be a more experienced and inclusive industry, generator of change and formality, concerned with reputation; that proposes unique opportunities to new professional and specialized profiles that contribute, allowing evolution at the pace of current technologies.

This sector has great potential but that leads to assuming great responsibilities in relation to the impact, the environment and the repercussions that unfold from its exercise. From this activity many things could be anticipated but up to now the reasoning has been empirically and practically in emerging markets with a track record but limited objectives and resources.

Companies must anticipate and make viable emerging policies in modern and global society that also determine market dynamics. This requires the commitment of all parties involved and collaboration with each other.

I would believe that it is the challenge of all companies, even those that are born online like ours or that have nothing to do with casinos.
